Protect Your Pipes
As temperatures are expected to drop to freezing or below this week, it’s important to prepare your home to prevent frozen pipes and costly damages:
- Insulate Pipes: Wrap exposed pipes to keep them warm.
- Seal Leaks: Check for drafts near your pipes and seal them to keep the cold air out.
- Keep the Heat On: Maintain a consistent temperature in your home, even when you’re not there.
- Let Faucets Drip: A trickle of water can prevent pipes from freezing.
- Know Your Shut-Off Valve: Most house shut-off valves are located on the outside of your home. Make sure you know how to quickly turn off your water in case a pipe does burst. Do not turn water off at the main water meter. You must contact Si Environmental to have water shut off to water meter.
