The District has a sanitary sewer collection system comprised of approximately 68,000 feet of gravity sewer piping ranging in size from 8 inches to 24 inches in diameter and close to 350 manholes. The system is de-signed to collect wastewater from residents and commercial entities and transport it to the wastewater treatment plant. The majority of this system was constructed of reinforced concrete and clay pipe in the 1970s. Concrete pipe can experience aggressive deterioration from the corrosive environment created by the sewer gases. There is also a significant portion of Truss pipe which has deteriorated as well. Several years ago, the District developed a planned phase approach to complete the need-ed rehabilitation to the system and to ensure it will continue to operate reliably. The District has performed investigations and repairs on a portion of the system, but a substantial amount remains.

The District has completed Rehabilitation Phases I – V and Phase VI is currently in construction. The sections of the system to be rehabilitated in Phase VI are in Huntwick Subdivision Sections 3, 4, 5, and 9 and consist of approximately 18,600 linear feet of 8-inch and 12-inch truss pipes. The work involves cleaning, televising, rehabilitation by Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) method, and sanitary sewer manholes rehabilitation using a cementitious liner. A contract has been signed with Ram Rod Utilities, LLC, a company with many years of experience in this type of work. This Contractor is currently working throughout the neighborhood until July 2025 performing these services.
